A few days in the wilds to enjoy the New Year break. I deliberately didn’t take the Weihrauch as I had no intention of standing outside all day in sub-zero temperatures waiting for the canny Welsh rats to show their faces, however when I got there they were unusually brazen so I borrowed an old Westlake (SMK) .22 mounted with a Richter Optik 4×40 scope and a couple of the wee blighters fell instantly to the 14gr Marksman pellets.

The distributors’ Web site states that the B2 is “possibly the best selling break action air rifle in the UK today… superb, value for money… a first choice air rifle packed with features normally found on models costing two or three times the price”. I’m not sure what the features are – for example, there’s no safety catch (!) and the stock has a horrible lacquer finish – but the barrel lock-up is nice and tight and I have to admit £60 isn’t a bad price for a new air rifle. Once you get used to the awful trigger break you’ll probably get your money’s worth out of it.

You can read a review from Airgun Shooter magazine if you’re interested.
