After putting up with my very clunky installation of Atahualpa, I decided to have a bit of a revamp of the site. Initially I thought I’d have a go at tweaking Atahualpa’s settings but the Customize option completely refused to take me to the customisation pages. I asked the Google… yes, other people have experienced the same issue and they’ve mostly fixed it by updating WordPress and/or Atahualpa, adding some custom code to the functions.php file, and several other things I don’t even remember. None of them worked for me, however.
So I decided to bite the bullet and go for a completely new theme. I must have tried fifty different ones before settling – possibly temporarily, who knows – on this one: Neve. Most of the other ones I tried didn’t give me enough control over the configuration with many of them asking for a registration payment in the region of £50 to enable the more advanced features – not that I regard being able to change the font colour an ‘advanced feature’. That might be worth paying if I’m definitely going to use a theme in the long run but it’s not worth forking out that sort of money just to find out whether it suits me or not.
So here’s Neve. I’m going to be tinkering with the settings for a while yet, but she seems to be playing nicely so far…
